Construction work on Next on Sixth, one of dozens of major new developments on the way to Koreatown, is nearly finished. Once complete, the seven-story mixed use building at Sixth and Virgil will include 399 market-rate apartments, with extravagant amenities such as a resort-style pool, private massage room, fitness center, gourmet coffee bar, screening room, and simulated golf range.

More exciting to most area residents will probably be the 22,000 square foot Target opening up on the ground floor. That’s nowhere near as big as most Target locations, but the store is one of two smaller-scale shops that the retailer is opening in Los Angeles, the other, near USC, is scheduled to open in July.

According to Target, the Koreatown store will include groceries, apparel, accessories, and electronics, along with a pharmacy and mobile phone display.

Developed by Century West Partners, Next on Sixth broke ground in May and is expected to be open by November.
