MICHAEL SOROCHINSKY
Chief Executive Officer

Michael Sorochinsky is one of the founders of Cypress Equity Investments. He focuses on investment strategies and portfolio expansion. Over the past several years, Mr. Sorochinsky’s investment strategies, business philosophy  and transaction execution diligence have brought substantial annualized returns to equity. Prior to founding Cypress Equity Investments, Mr. Sorochinsky practiced law with several large multi-disciplinary law firms including Perkins Coie and Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy. His specialties included representing both creditors and borrowers in complex real estate litigation. Mr. Sorochinsky was also heavily involved in restructuring debt and equity relationships for clients, and repositioning distressed projects across both commercial and residential asset classes. Mr. Sorochinsky received his JD from the UCLA School of Law and is a member in good standing of the California Bar Association.

LEONARD WERBIN
Director of Development

Leonard Werbin, co-founder of Cypress Equity Investments, brings over twenty years of real estate development and management experience across California. Most recently, Mr. Werbin developed high-end homes in Lake Tahoe and successfully positioned these as vacation homes for high net worth individuals. Mr. Werbin is responsible for overseeing the firm's capital intensive renovation projects and subcontractor management. In addition, he regularly evaluates real estate development opportunities and advises the executive team on revenue diversification strategies. He graduated with a BA in psychology from California State University, Northridge.

GENE TENBERG
Chief Investment Officer

Gene Tenberg, joined Cypress in 2003, re-branded the company into Cypress Equity Investments, and developed the company's insititutional investment business. He focuses on under writing, analytics, evaluating new investments, due diligence, contract management and compliance, re-capitalizations and investor reporting. Leveraging his strong technology background, Mr. Tenberg also assists in supporting company operations by managing IT systems and vendors.

Earlier in his career Mr. Tenberg drove business and product management in several mature and start-up companies including Silicon Graphics, Avaya and Neopost. He brought a strong analytical foundation to all his projects improving confidence of decision making and building consensus among stakeholders. He is responsbile for millions of dollars in improvements of both top line and bottom line performance metrics. In the early 90's he developed and supported international expansion strategies for a Russian trading and finance company launching the first ruble-denominated consumer credit card in Russia. Mr. Tenberg received his BS in Civil Engineering from UC, Irivine and began his professional career by evaluating hydrology and hydraulics resources for municipal clients in Southern California. He also holds an MBA from the Haas School of Business in Berkeley, California.

ALLA SOROCHINSKY
Chief Financial Officer

Alla Sorochinsky joined Cypress in 2001 after a decade in public accounting and audit.   As one of the founders of Cypress, Mrs. Sorochinsky developed the company’s property management business, accounting standards, processes and procedures.  In her current role she oversees cash management, credit facilities, corporate operations and asset management.  A great deal of her efforts focus on overseeing the company’s dual approach to property management – self-management and via 3rd party.  She excels in understanding the varying nuances of both management approaches in driving ultimate business objectives for the company’s investment assets.  Mrs. Sorochinsky received her CPA license while at BDO Seidman, LLP and Master of Accounting degree from University of Southern California.

Len Fridman
Director of Acquisitions

Len Fridman, came to CEI after a successful career as an independent real estate broker and investor.  Most recently he worked under the Remax brand in Canada where he made top 10% of annual sales in the Atlantic region and consistently met annual sales targets in the first 6 months of the year.  Mr. Fridman began his career at Cushman & Wakefield where he specialized in leasing of commercial real estate assets.  He achieved some of his greatest success in a down market. As Mr. Fridman's real estate portfolio expanded in Canada he founded and managed a boutique property management company which he sold in 2000.  Mr. Fridman received his BA in real estate and finance from California State University, Northridge.
