Koreatown’s Next on Sixth is one of more than 40 new developments planned for the neighborhood, and when it opens this weekend, it will bring 398 new market-rate apartments to market in the walkable neighborhood.

The complex will also bring a Target to Koreatown. One of the company’s smaller “urban concept” stores, this location will measure a mere 22,000 square feet. Previous reports had said that the smaller store would sell groceries, clothing, accessories, and electronics, and also hold a pharmacy.

The seven-story mixed use building at Sixth Street and Virgil Avenue will offer tenants access to an array of amenities, including a swimming pool, a gym, a coffee bar, and a golf range. The building was designed by Killefer Flammang Architects.

Move-ins to the studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments at Next on Sixth occurred last weekend. A spokesperson for developer Century West Partners tells Curbed that rents in the building range from $2,575 to $3,400.

This new development is a stone’s throw from even more proposed projects.

Right by Next on Sixth, the Grand Spa has plans to add a six-story hotel to a parking lot behind its existing spa building. The new hotel would offer 99 guest rooms and sit atop a parking structure. A block away, near Sixth and Westmoreland, plans filed with the city call for 77 live/work lofts over retail space.
